This course is designed to provide a fundamental understanding of business management and the challenges of a “general manager”. In this module, we seek to introduce and familiarize participants to situations that require a holistic thinking on part of senior managers and leaders. We seek to familiarize participants with the typical business situations that confront leaders from time to time, the necessity of having to deal with trade-offs, the principles on which such trade- offs and compromises may have to resolved and the necessity to confront and deal with uncertainty. We use a series of contextual cases and pedagogical tools to introduce participants to the holistic situational analysis. Typical topic coverage includes:
